BF James Pool is a great way to spend time with family and friends. Our pool is temperature controlled and offers a variety of programs and amenities. During Open Swim families or individual participants will have the ability to practice or train swimming skills appropriate for their individual goals. Whether you want to lounge poolside on the deck or enjoy swimming laps, there is something fun for you to do at BF James Pool.

The OB Johnson Park, Butch Nelson Gymnasium is home to our Open Gym program as scheduled. Open Gym is a non-instructional program. Staff maintains a safe atmosphere while participants enjoy our basketball or volleyball courts.

Youth ages 12 years and under must be accompanied by a parent/guardian over the age of 18 years at all times. Youth ages 13 years through 17 years must be signed in and out by a parent/guardian unless a current sign-in/out waiver is on file.

A current liability waiver is required.

Annual passes are available: $15 for residents, $120 for non-residents. The daily visit fee is $5 for residents, $15 for non-residents. Thanks to a generous sponsorship from the Fenstersheib Law Group, PA, City of Hallandale Beach Youth through age 17 years can receive a FREE annual gym membership for this program.

The O.B. Johnson Park Teen Zone is the place to be every summer for teens ages 13 through 17. The Teen Zone Summer Program features weekly themed activities and field trips.

Our summer program includes the FDIC Money Smart for Young People financial understanding program, Water Safety training, daily Recording Studio time, and the production of an Original Video. All field trips, are mandatory, require a waiver, and are subject to change.

Our Teen Zone Garden Project gives Teens a hands-on learning experience through a community-based, vegetable garden program which will help them experience the satisfaction of growing their own food.

Atlantic Shotokan Karate Club offers intensive karate instruction to all age groups. Classes are led by Sensei Julio Egoavil, a 4th degree black belt and former National Champion.
